CHOICE STORY PROJECT

The CHOICE Home Care Program has effectively served thousands of older and disabled Hoosiers since its creation in 1987. Unfortunately, some policy makers feel as if the cost of CHOICE services is seen as a burden and a waste of financial resources. We at United Senior Action see the benefits that the CHOICE program continues to provide to countless families and individuals in helping them to maintain an independent lifestyle. However, we fear that the opposition to this program puts it at high risk for future cut back consideration. As a way to spotlight the real impact of this program United Senior Action is implementing a story-gathering project in support of the CHOICE program.

The goal is to collect as many stories from those individuals who may be on the waiting list or who are currently receiving CHOICE services. We are seeking volunteers to share their stories, which will be apended to a booklet shared with legislators and other officials to raise awareness of the necessity of these services. If you or anyone that you know of has received CHOICE services, please share your story with us to assure the longevity of this vital program.
