Candidates For Congress Called On To Fix Medicare Part D If Elected

Members of United Senior Action have advanced their campaign to change how Medicare Part D works by focusing on congressional candidates. The Fix Medicare Part D Campaign is being organized in Indiana by United Senior Action of Indiana and the Indiana Alliance for Retired Americans (Alliance).

Members in Anderson crowd Congressman Mike Pence’s office calling on the legislator to sign a pledge that he will work to fix Medicare Part D. Pence was not present.

Congressional forums have been or will be held in Indianapolis, Anderson and Fort Wayne in order to draw more citizens into the campaign and to call on candidates to support the changes proposed. In addition, USA and the Alliance sent letters to all candidates for Congress as well as Senators Evan Bayh and Richard Lugar asking them to pledge to change the program.

Walter Cronkite Video Available To Groups

Nearly two dozen groups and individuals have already held or have scheduled a viewing of a new video produced by Families USA, a national health advocacy organization. The video, "The Problems With The Medicare Prescription Drug Program And How To Fix Them," is a mere 12 minutes long and is an excellent tool.

USA members interested in scheduling a viewing for their group (senior center, church, retirees, etc.) or for 5 or more friends in their home should Email info@usaindiana.org and return it right away to the USA office.
